Windows Vista x64 causes host Mac OS X to panic during guest OS boot

Description

Attempting to boot a clean installation of Windows Vista x64 on Mac OS X 10.5.6 in VirtualBox 2.1.4 results in the host OS panicing.

This crash does not occur when the boot volume is put on a PATA port and the SATA controller is left enabled.

Returning the boot volume to a SATA port results in an immediate kernel panic when booting the VM.
