DNS breaks when first server in /etc/resolv.conf is broken

Description
In ubuntu host, DNS works fine when the first DNS server in /etc/resolv.conf doesn't work. However, in the windows xp guest, DNS is broken. Workaround: move around DNS servers in /etc/resolv.conf. This workaround isn't great because it seems that resolv.conf is regenerated whenever NetworkManager is restarted.

Starting with version 2.2.0, VirtualBox passes all DNS servers to the guest. Please try version 2.2.2 and reopen if this problem persists.
