(1.3.99-beta1 for Mac OS X) It isn't possible to delete the entry for image which was already deleted manually from the file system, hence the machine also couldn't be removed.

Could you be more specific please? This should actually work.

Setup: 1.3.99-beta1 running on Mac OS X

Use GUI to: (1) Create a new virtual machine (2) Create a disc image file (3) Close GUI

Now delete manually the file <<

(4) Start GUI (5) Try to delete the virtual machine

Works fine for me. Is your VM powered off when you try to delete it? Are there snapshots?

Yes, the vm was powered off and there were snapshots.

This is actually working as designed. You have to first delete all snapshots before you can actually delete the VM. It was done in order to reduce complexity and will be addressed later.

  • Priority changed from blocker to major

comment:7 Changed 10 years ago by frank

  • Component changed from other to VM control
  • Summary changed from Mac OS X: Virtual Image Manager can't handle deleted images to Cannot delete images if snapshots are active

  • Status changed from new to closed
  • Resolution set to fixed

This should work and VirtualBox 2.2.0 improved things.
