Description (last modified by Frank Mehnert)

I am trying to run a Guest WindowsXP on Linux FDC8 with VirtualBox 2.06. All is fine until I try to Install software that needs an Aladin Donggle then the application runs the first time but then can cause complete system crashes blue screens or not be able to fine the doggle.. even both.

Is there a method to allow this type of dongle to operate. I am very willing to supply further information.

This is rather old and no specific information is present...

I have tried using Alladin HASP HL with VB 3.1.2 and there is no problem.

Frank, can you check the newest version of VB?

I think sharing a copyprotection hardware is not a good idea ! I don't know if VB can support this without getting in serious conflicts with the law!

I have the same kind of trouble with VB 3.2.6 and an HASP HL 3.21. My host is a ArchLinux and my guest a WinXP. When I plug in the dongle, it appears in the USB devices list but it stays in grey. Is there a module to install or an option to tune ?

I finally resolved it by adding myself to vboxusers.
