Guest type: | Solaris | Host type: | Windows |
Description
Running Vbox 2.0.4 64 bit on Vista 64 bit. After installing (with VT-X enabled)latest version of Solaris10 (sol-10-u6-ga1-x86-dvd.iso) and updating to the latest system updates I was not able to restart solaris untill I turned of VT-x mode. After first reboot after instalation (with VT-x enabled) vbox hangs durring os boot. I never see message "Host: hostname" untill I turn of VT-x mode. Since I am running few OS at the same time VBOX need to have all running OS with VT-x enabled or disabled. By disabling VT-x CPU usage goes too high.

After replacing my 2.0.4 (64 bit that installs to x86 folder :) with http://www.virtualbox.org/download/testcase/Vista64fix.zip I did try toboos Solaris again and it got stock at: "Use is subject to license terms""Configuring devices" It jus sits there. I do not see any disk activity not network activity(monitoring vbox activiti icons) I will attach the log file. Also with the three files replaced looks likevbox is starting much slowwer. Is that normal? After about 5 min waiting I just did power off solaris machine. I also removed SATA that I had enabled.

Initial Solaris VM settings 32Mb Ram, VT-x enabled, 640Mb RAM, NAT. Durring Solaris initial install I selected default install for everything with networked ip4 - yes, ip6 - no, DHCP enabled, Time zone Central.

This has regressed with VirtualBox 2.1.4 with 64-bit Linux hosts (CentOS 5.2) running Solaris 10 guest. After about an hour or so of operation, the VM will hang, requiring it to be shut down hard.
