I installed a cronjob, with sets the time ervery 5 minutes from an ntp server and the offset is between 30 and 50 seconds.

Are you sure that the timesync daemon is actually running in the Debian guest? Please could you attach the VBox.log file of such a session to this defect?

The timesync daemon is running:

ps -Af | grep timesync
root 2041 1 0 10:19 ? 00:00:00 /usr/sbin/vboxadd-timesync --daemonize

Works fine here with recent guest additions: The guest time is set if the difference between host and guest is bigger than 20 minutes, otherwise the time is smoothly adjusted. Note that 3.1.2 additions have another bug so you might want to re-check when 3.1.4 is out.
