Description
i've installed virtualbox 2.0.2 on a windows 2003 R2 host (fully updated). i've then defined a new virtual machine (i didnt touch any advanced setting when creating it) and installed windows xp on it.
later, i've changed the advanced settings and the virtual machine started crashing virtual boz when i booted it.
i've tracked the crashed to a single setting - the "enable ACPI" checkbox under the advanced settings tab - virtualbox crashes with ACPI off

VirtualBox doesn't crash. It's a controlled abort of the VM session as the guest completely crashed. Which is normal since Windows can't handle ACPI changes (or APIC or IO-APIC changes for that matter) after installation.
Just don't do this or complain to Microsoft about it. :)
