Same error here. I did try to copy and run /etc/init.d/vboxdrv from my fedora install that has Virtualbox 2.0.2 and run it. It says "/etc/init.d/vboxdrv: line 255: /usr/share/virtualbox/src/build_in_tmp: No such file or directory"

arch linux - kernel 2.6.26-ARCH Virtualbox - 2.0.2_OSE

gsreekatnan: Apparently you either mixed two versions of VirtualBox or the OSE package you installed is broken. We don't provide binaries for the OSE version so I don't know the package you installed. The OSE packages for Linux normally depend on another package providing the kernel vboxdrv module.

The solution for me was to make sure I was running the right version of VirtualBox. I had downloaded, but not installed, the latest version. Once I installed the latest version, things worked as planned.
