Win2000 Guest Additions Shutdown problem -> fixed in 2.0.4

Reported by: th_bone Owned by:

Description

Hi,

Host: Ubuntu 8.10 Hardy Heron, with VB 2.0.2-36488

Guest: Win2000 SP4 with latest security updates

The problem always shows up after the installation off the latest GuestAdditions (tested on 3 different VMs with Win2000)

If you try to shutdown the VM first all works fine and then it hang - the VM-Window then only shows vertical green and black lines ... the only way you can stop the VM is to Close the VM with VB direct. (Host+Q)

similar problem with Virtualbox 2.0.2 running under OS X 10.5.5 with Windows 2000 Professional SP4 vm. Windows attempts to restart, eventually vm displays black screen but does not reboot, manual reset (Host+R) required.

Same problem, green stripes at the end of shutdown of Win2000.

Plus if if to choose chkdsk, guest system lesves to death (blue) screen (after reboot - "reset"+start - and run chkdsk). Tested on Suse 10.3 and WinXP hosts/

Confirm I'm also getting this behaviour with a Win2k SP4 guest in a Vista Ultimate x64 box. Again, downgrading to 2.0.0 seems to have resolved the issue.

The new guest additions are included in the package of course. Just install the new additions.

2.0.4 Guest Additions fixes the problem here.
