This issue has now been fixed. Not only Guest Additions, but also Linux host part was affected. Could you please pick up a test build from this page and give it a try?

Did not work with the test build 7.0.13 r160458

But it did work with the dev snapshot Version 7.0.97 r160499

Also tested the latest kernel 5.14.0-388.el9.x86_64 and it was working too.

How long until 160499 gets released as 7.0.x?

Thank you for giving it a try. Are you sure 7.0.13 r160458 has building issue? It has exactly the same fix as 7.0.97 r160499 does. It also works on my end. If you still observing the problem, could you please attach build log with the error?

I rolled back my install to r160458 and my kernel back to 5.14.0-381.el9.x86_64 and tried the install again and it did fail.

Checksum does not much to Guest Additions 7.0.13 r160458. Please make sure you downloaded .iso file, not something else.

Ah ok, I just used the "Insert Guest Additions CD Image" menu under Devices and didn't download the ISO for the test build separately.

I downloaded the ISO for r160458 , and its now working.

Checksum looks correct now. We usually do not announce release dates upfront. Probably, early next year.
