#21567 new defect

Guru Meditation 1155 (VINF_EM_TRIPLE_FAULT) when rebooting guest

Guest type: Linux Host type: Linux

Description

Running an Almalinux 8.7 guest on an CentOS 7 host, we sometimes get a Guru Mediation 1155 (VINF_EM_TRIPLE_FAULT) when rebooting the guest. These reboots happen as part of automated tests on these guests and are not always reproducible, but they do occur on a frequent basis (about 1 in 10 reboots). It's not clear to me what the common factor is, but if one VM fails to reboot, it is likely others in the same test run will also fail. The exact moment of the crash can differ slightly, most times, the VM ends with "Probing EDD (edd=off to disable)... ok", but sometimes with "iPXE (http://ipxe.org) E2:00.0 E200 PCI2.10 E200".

I forgot to mention, we are seeing these crashes ever since we upgraded from 6.1 to 7.0, so it seems to be a regression in 7.0.
