blkcache_ioerr causes fatal crash

Description
I am running vbox 6.1.38 on a win 11 host with up to date patches. My guest is ubu 22.04.1 server. I have vdi's for /, swap, /home. space allocation for / is 200G, fixed; currently, 175G is free. The drive hosting this vm is a samsung m.2, 2T, drive; 1.2T is currently free. For each vdi, I have selected the options for ssd drive and hot swap.
I have done fresh installations of vbox, then the ubu server, four times now, and all have gotten this error within 10 minutes of starting the vm.
The m.2 drive in question has posted no error messages in its logs.
I would be happy to provide whatever supplemental info might be required to further diagnose / solve this problem.
