Description
I had a 6.1 version of Virtual Box installed on Mint 20.3 Cinnamon (which is based upon Ubuntu 20.04). I did an in-place upgrade to Mint 21.0 (based on Ubuntu 22.04). The upgrade removed VirtualBox. I reinstalled VirtualBox, from Mint's repositories. Then I obtained the relevant expansion pack and installed that.
Then I ran VirtualBox and tried to launch my existing VM, I received a 'NS_ERROR_FAILURE' message (the details of which, incidentally, where invisible until I highlighted them by selecting the relevant text). As part of the recovery procedure (on which I have notes, from previous problems with VirtualBox) I tried sudo /sbin/rcvboxdrv setup
. Result: 'bash: /usr/lib/virtualbox/vboxdrv.sh: No such file or directory'. After some websearching, I discovered the command /usr/lib/virtualbox/vboxdrv.sh setup
. Result: again, not found.
