Host OS starvation on Windows XP Host

Reported by: Technologov Owned by:

Description

In some situations, VirtualBOX uses 100% I/O and CPU power from Host, causing a starvation on the Host OS and making it non-responsive.

Software: Windows XP Pro SP2 Eng (no additional patches), VirtualBox 1.3.2 Full.

Can SLOW down Windows XP host significantly.

I recommend: Autostart CPU Priority must be lowered to "low" instead of "normal".

NOTE: The above helps solve the CPU starvation, but not the I/O starvation which really causes a total halt on the Host system. (intensive RAM/CD-ROM/Network/HDD usage)

Any ideas to solve I/O starvation ?
