Description

Hello ,

Today I have upgraded VirtualBox to latest release "VirtualBox-6.1.16-140961-Win" and also updated the extensions.

I started my VM and it has OS Openfiler 2.99 , but today I see a grey screen and I cannot log into my system. I have three VM with this OS and all are not starting.

I can see boot screen and after boot I see a grey screen. Screenshots attached

I have others VM with different OS ( Windows 2016 , Oracle Linux 6.2 , Redhat Linux 5.5) and those are working fine.

I have done some troubleshooting after checking some google links. Issue still persists

restarted my laptop multiple times Started VM as administrator , but still same issue Changed display Graphics controller . Tried all options VBoxVGA , VMSVGA, VboxSVGA. Still same issue. Increase Display Video Memory , still same issue Increase System Base Memory , Still same issue

Issue with Grey screen

comment:1 by vinodp, 3 years ago

Issue is resolved. I was tinkering with display Graphics controller settings and saw this issue(IO-APIC time , screenshot attached) when started the VM. disabled Enable "I/O APIC" and "Hardware Clock in UTC Time" in System===>Motherboard(tab)===>Extended Features . Issue got resolved after this
