Description
I'm on an iMac here with Mojave 10.14.6. Virtualbox 6.1.12 was running fine until today. When I started VB I was informed about the available update 6.1.14. So I downloaded it and tried to install. Installation aborted at some stage, no detailed information why. Since then VB doesn't work any longer on my Mac. When I try to start a virtual machine, an error comes up: Kernel driver not installed (rc=-1908) Make sure the kernel module has been loaded successfully. where: suplibOsInit what: 3 VERR_VM_DRIVER_NOT_INSTALLED (-1908)
- The support driver ist not installed. On linux, open returned ENOENT.
When I turn off SIP, Virtualbox can be installed and executed. As soon as I enable SIP again, VB refuses to run.

...after 4days FOUND FIX..
credits to TheQL! ->https://forums.virtualbox.org/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=84092&start=135
In recovery mode (mount ur main OS disk):
# chflags restricted /Volumes/Macintosh\ HD/private/var/db/KernelExtensionManagement[[BR]] # chflags restricted /Volumes/Macintosh\ HD/private/var/db/KernelExtensionManagement/Staging
To be clear... I've upgraded from HighSierra -> Mojave so seems upgrade doesn't fix permissions as should be.. In desperation I've tried install vmware fusion.
On my surprise it doesn't ask for permission to load kext neither and starting VM failed.
After this fix when i started vmware fusion immediately notification showed up and in security confirmation request as well.. https://ibb.co/9ZXLDWy
atm VirtualBox 6.1.14 is running fine ... after full backup I'll try upgrade to 6.1.16.. will keep you posted. https://ibb.co/Sm7VXRY
