#19680 awaitsfeedback defect
Clipboard doesn't work for 6.1.10-138449 and Solaris 11.4
Reported by: | J_Nicholas | Owned by: | |
---|---|---|---|
Component: | clipboard | Version: | VirtualBox 6.1.10 |
Keywords: | clipboard guest additions | Cc: | |
Guest type: | Solaris | Host type: | Windows |
Description
I've installed multiple times and the clipboard never works despite having enabled bidirectional. I have installed successfully before on a different laptop, earlier vbox and Linux Guest and the clipboard worked. I don't know if it matters, but I get signature errors when installing the guest additions. See attached.

At least when running Solaris 11.4 guest on a Linux host, shared clipboard works without problems. Maybe this is a Windows host specific problem. Please attach the Vbox.log file after you have reproduced the problem.

This is benign. The VirtualBox 6.1.x Guest Additions kernel modules for Solaris are signed with the Oracle CodeSign 2020 certificate which is included in Solaris 11.4 SRU21 whereas your system is on SRU15 which has the previous years' Oracle CodeSign certificates. Once you update your guest to SRU21 or later the warnings will go away.

This system is the intial vanilla 11.4 FCS version (11.4.0.15.0) without any SRU applied. I have tested this and I cannot reproduce this on Windows 10 host running guests with Solaris 11.4 SRU 15 (11.4.15.5.0) and not with Solaris 11.4 SRU22. The clipboard worked in my case. I have not tested the inital 11.4 FCS config though.
So can you please be more verbose which activity you have done? Can you update to the latest SRU?
Also this bug popped up, but only after about twenty installation tries. https://docs.oracle.com/cd/E37838_01/html/E60973/instal.html
Why would it just pop up when nothing changed? All hardware the same, same iso file, vbox versions.
