can you please also attach the output of

"vboxmanage showvminfo <vm-name>

so we can get the exact audio config from there.

It's usually better and faster, if issues get first addressed in the VirtualBox forums, a lot more eyes there. More than 95% of the issues are resolved in the forums, which keeps the developers focusing on the bug fixes and enhancements, and there is no need for another ticket to keep track of. For example, yours is most probably not a bug and someone from the developers has to deal with it and close it as "Invalid".

Plus a discussion and analysis on the bug tracker is going to help me, is going to help you, and potentially a future drive-by user or two. Not so in the forums, many more tend to benefit...

From your VBox.log:

00:00:00.967423 CPUM: No hardware-virtualization capability detected
...
00:00:01.107613 Full Name: "Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU E7400 @ 2.80GHz"
...
00:00:22.754482 !! VCPU0: Guru Meditation -2403 (VERR_TRPM_DONT_PANIC)

Your Core2 Duo E7400 CPU is too old (Q1'08) and does not have any hardware virtualization capabilities. As a result, you will be really limited to what Guests you can/can't run. I believe that this one belongs to the "can't run" category.

I do not believe that IntelHDA is your problem, why are you thinking that this is the case? If you disable the audio completely, your VM actually runs properly?

I would like to see the recipe of the VM, the ".vbox" file:

  • Right-click on the VM in the VirtualBox Manager. Select "Show in Finder/Explorer/FileManager/Whatever".
  • ZIP the selected ".vbox" file and attach it to your response.

Resolution: fixed

This should've been fixed with the latest VBox 6.0 and 6.1 release, closing as fixed for now. Please reopen if this is still an issue.
