It's usually better and faster, if issues get first addressed in the VirtualBox forums, a lot more eyes there. More than 95% of the issues are resolved in the forums, which keeps the developers focusing on the bug fixes and enhancements, and there is no need for another ticket to keep track of. For example, yours is most probably not a bug and someone from the developers has to deal with it and close it as "Invalid".

Plus a discussion and analysis on the bug tracker is going to help me, is going to help you, and potentially a future drive-by user or two. Not so in the forums, many more tend to benefit...

For example, this specific issue has been discussed ad nauseam in the forums. 99.99% you have an overzealous antivirus, which is preventing access to what it thinks are considered protected directories.

Uninstall (don't simply disable) all 3rd party antivirus and try again. Let me know how it went...

I've mentioned what it was an issue and how to fix. Fix: Manual removing all files under C:\Program Files\Oracle\VirtualBox\ExtensionPacks

This happened on two individual Windows 10 machines.

Without getting the information which files were left behind we can't fix this. No, we will not blindly delete everything, because then we'll get complaints from someone that we deleted his valuable data without asking.

That is a good point. The reason for deleting was time to recover this. I hope there will be a possibility to reproduce it.
