Error Importing an Appliance (ODI)

Description

Hi

I have Virtual Box installed on my work laptop with a working appliance on it for just Linux. I am trying to import an appliance for Oracle Data Integrator but I keep getting an error message shown here:

Failed to import appliance C:\Users\marhamil\Downloads\VBoxApp-ODI12c\ODI 12c Getting Started VM - OTN 122131.ova. Result Code: E_INVALIDARG (0x80070057)

Please can someone help?

i have a similar issue, with varying details. The host is a mac, the ova contains a win7 machine with a vmdk disk. the import fails after some few seconds (<10). the destination folder exists. a new subfolder is created, but no files appear in it. system.log has no messages with a suitable timestamp. all of this using 6.0.12

the appliance to be imported is ca 40GB. (forty) there are 200+GB (two hundred) unused in the destination filesystem, so no lack of space i think this excludes previous solutions to similar symptoms.

It's usually better and faster, if issues get first addressed in the  VirtualBox forums, a lot more eyes there. More than 95% of the issues are resolved in the forums, which keeps the developers focusing on the bug fixes and enhancements, and there is no need for another ticket to keep track of. For example, yours is most probably not a bug and someone from the developers has to deal with it and close it as "Invalid".

Plus a discussion and analysis on the bug tracker is going to help me, you, and potentially a future drive-by user or two. Not so in the forums, many more tend to benefit...

Please, open a new thread in the  Using VirtualBox section of the forums. Please be sure to mention that you came from the bug tracker and include the ticket number.
