can't mount / unmount CD/DVDROM while VM is running (XP host, OpenSolaris guest)

Description
To install the Solaris Guest additions I've tried to mount/unmount the relevant iso file from the VM -> Device menu with no luck. If I restart rmvolmgr (svcadm restart rmvolmgr), it just does nothing (or unmount what was previously mounted).
Stopping the VM, setting appropriate mount data, and re-starting the VM solve my immediate issue but it looks like mounting from the VM -> device menu does not work. My config is:
host: Windows XP SP2 guest: OpenSolaris 2008.05 (fresh install)

The CD image cannot be unmounted from the VM as long as the (virtual) medium is locked by the guest. So please check if the image is somehow mounted by the guest.
