CentOS 7 boot hangs after installing Guest Additions

Description

Host: Mac OS Guest: CentOS 7 VirtualBox Version: 5.2.20 r125813 (Qt5.6.3)

I installed "Guest Additions" and restarted my CentOS. Since the CentOS doesn't boot.... it hangs while booting.

VirtualBox 6.0.0 is out, can you please try with that one?

And reproducing with a freshly installed guest would also be of interest. If you can interact with the guest, the system journal for that boot would be interesting, otherwise whatever information you are able to get. Examples: boot without the boot splash screen and provide a screenshot; boot with guest boot output sent to a host file via the serial port, if you can get that working.

And if you can't reproduce it with a freshly installed guest, finding the difference between the guests would be necessary for solving this.
