Description

I've just started to use VirtualBox-5.2.18-124319-Win.and I can't work out where I'm going wrong. My Host is Windows 7, 64bit, I've installed Win XP 32bit. and also on other occasions 64, Base memory 192 mb, chipset, P11X3, Execution cap 100%, I've also installed Oracle_VM_VirtualBox_Extension_Pack-5.2.18. I can get everything to work perfectly until I turn my PC off. and then I just an error message, please see images. The only way I can temporality resolve the issue is to uninstall Virtual box, and delete files from both the registry and windows system 32 driver file, turn the computer off, reboot and reinstall. Then all works well again, until the next reboot. Does anyone know of a fix. I've included the log and images of the most common error messages. Thank you Peter1701

It's usually better and faster, if issues get first addressed in the VirtualBox forums, a lot more eyes there. More than 95% of the issues are resolved over there, which keeps the developers focusing on the bug fixes and enhancements, and there is no need for another ticket to keep track of. For example, yours is not a bug and someone from the developers has to deal with it and close it as "Invalid".

The bug tracker is not a place for discussions, the forums are.

You have a hardening issue. Please read really carefully the following FAQ: Diagnosing VirtualBox Hardening Issues for some generic guidelines/ideas. Those are guidelines, you have to use your judgement as to which program might be responsible...

If you still have a problem after reading through the whole thing, please open a new thread in the VirtualBox on Windows Hosts section of the forums. Please be sure to mention that you came from the bug tracker and include the ticket number.

Oh, and don't forget to attach a ZIPPED version of the VBoxHardening.log, the one that's mentioned in the error dialog.

Just an update; after a thorough investigation, the issue was due to Trusteer Rapport being installed in the OP's system.

For anyone landing here with similar symptoms, there's a dedicated thread (a sticky actually) in the forums dealing with this: "Virtualbox problem with Trusteer Rapport".

Note: See TracTickets for help on using tickets.
