I believe that this is fixed in XWayland 1.20, which I think will be part of Ubuntu 18.10.

I am also experiencing this issue. Auto-Capture Keyboard is not working for me under Wayland but it is working under X11.

I am using Pop!_OS 19.04 so I should have newer versions than most things in Ubuntu 18.10 where this was purportedly fixed. I can provide versions of things if you guys are interested.

It would be awesome to have this fixed as then I can use VirtualBox in a workspace and four finger swipe properly to other desktops (unavailable mostly in X11).

I'm on Debian buster, with xwayland 1.20.4, and I still have the problem (i.e. the non capture of host key or alt+tab...), so I think this bug should be reopened.

Replying to pierre-haessig:

This this is apparently working with X11 but not with XWayland, I assume you already have filed a bug with Ubuntu/Xwayland? What was the result of that?
