Error (rc=-5640): More than one thread in process - Windows 10

Reported by: LhasaHelp Owned by:
Component: other Version: VirtualBox 5.2.16
Keywords: RC -5640 Cc:
Guest type: other Host type: other

Description

We have users who use Virtual Box for some VMs and all of the users have the same default software installed (McAfee Endpoint Security) but some users cannt run a VM and get a thread is in use error.

Attached are two logs from two machines out of deployment. One has some extra software working but I can't see any obvious issue that causes it to error out on just one machine.

Attached are two logs (one working and one not)

Thanks in advance

Please read really carefully the following FAQ: Diagnosing VirtualBox Hardening Issues. Most probably as you pointed out the McAfee Endpoint Security. Compare the working vs. broken versions.

BTW, it's usually better and faster, if issues get first addressed in the VirtualBox forums. More than 95% of the issues are resolved over there, which keeps the developers focusing on the bug fixes and enhancements, and there is no need for another ticket to keep track of. For example, yours is not a bug and someone from the developers has to deal with it and close it as "Invalid".
