#17544 new defect

VM not responsive after hibernation: Mac OS host, Ubuntu Linux Guest

Reported by: JayyCee Owned by:
Component: VM control Version: VirtualBox 5.2.6
Keywords: hibernation, Mac OS, Linux Cc:
Guest type: Linux Host type: Mac OS X

Description

This is the version info:

Version 5.2.6 r120293 (Qt5.6.3)

Host OS: Mac OS, 10.12.6

Guest OS: Ubuntu 16.04 64bit

After a period of hibernation of the host os, the vm becomes not responsive. Though the VM looks like where it is left before hibernation, any actions including clicking and keyboarding can not make it work. Power-Off is the only way to kill the VM and start it again.

Just a friendly reminder; you remember the requirements in the new ticket page? They're actually listed before the ticket form, so I'm not sure how you missed it:

Attach a (full) log file ("Machine" menu/"Show Log" in the main VirtualBox Manager window) straight away to save time for you and for us. The log file contains a lot of useful information about both the host and the guest systems as well as information about what happened during a particular machine run. Please do not cut and paste it.

Note: See TracTickets for help on using tickets.
