Component: | other | Version: | VirtualBox 5.2.6 |
Keywords: | GNOME Power Manager Installation | Cc: | |
Guest type: | Linux | Host type: | Windows |
Description
After clicking on 'Start' the following message is received.
Install Problem! The configuration defaults for GNOME Power Manager have not been installed correctly. Please contact your computer administrator.
I am unable to start a terminal session and proceed.
This initially occurred with version 5.1.4; subsequently upgraded to 5.2.6 along with the Extension Pack
My research suggests that this is the result of a disk space issue. I have over 25GB of free space on each of my drives (C: and D:).

Excuse me... you're on Windows, and you're getting a "GNOME Power Manager" error? What's that got to do with VirtualBox exactly? If your guest is complaining, maybe it's got to do with the Guest Additions (GAs)? You still haven't updated them:
00:00:16.360911 VMMDev: Guest Additions information report: Version 5.1.14 r112924 '5.1.14'
If you do update the GAs, you should install the new GAs from the Downloads page, see the "Important" paragraph.

The following message: "Install Problem! The configuration defaults for GNOME Power Manager have not been installed correctly. Please contact your computer administrator." went away after adding additional storage to the Guest Virtual Machine.
