Similar issue faced with 5.1.26, 5.2.0 and 5.2.1. Host is Windows 10 Enterprise or Windows 7 Pro while Guest is Windows 7 Pro. Set Drag'n'Drop to either Guest to Host or Bidirectional. 1) Drag a text file from Host to Guest. 2) Holding the file for a few seconds in the Guest (without Drop). 3) Move the file back to Host (cancel the Drag and Drop).

--> VBoxTray.exe CPU cycles shoot up and Drag and Drop feature in Guest will be stopped.

Note: See TracTickets for help on using tickets.
