Switching from ICH9 to PIIX3 and disabling 3d acceleration fixed it

Removed the pasted VBox.log file. Would your guest properly run if you use PIIX3 but enable 3D? Did the same guest run properly with VBox 5.1.14?

The BSOD data is in VBox.log: P0=0x3b P1=0xc0000005 P2=0xfffff802f946b84b P3=0xffffcf8041da2c60 P4=0x0 (SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION)

Looks like an unexpected page fault... mysterious.

Actually this looks more like a duplicate of #16542. You should have mentioned that your guest is a Windows insider build.

Right, sorry. I had this issue since a few VBox versions so it is not new to .16 PIIX3 + 3D was still crashing indeed.

Replying to Stanzilla:

@Stanzilla: Please give more details about version of Windows you are using in guest (exact build number) and about your host hardware.
