Segmentation fault 11 - macos host, win7 guest

Reported by: layman Owned by:
Component: other Version: VirtualBox 5.1.4
Keywords: segmentation fault Cc:
Guest type: Windows Host type: Mac OS X

Description

Virtual machine crashes suddenly, upon key stroke or mouse click. VM is working fine for a while, like hours, then while VM is already in focus, and I click mouse or use keyboard to e.g. switch between apps in the guest, the crash happens. This can be after I used keyboard or mouse just before that in the same or a different window in the guest. It happens regularly now, twice or three times a day. I use this VM as my work environment and use it most of the day and as I said, it works fine for a while, then crashes.

Method to reproduce: unknown to me. Seems related to use of keyboard/mouse.

Crashes happening since 5.1.2

Crashes persisted after upgrade to 5.1.4

Crashes persisted after installing 3d hardware acceleration support on Win7 guest additions in 5.1.4, they were not present when in 5.1.2

Crashes more frequent now that in guest my Office 2010 was upgraded to Office 2013 by sysadmin.

I have saved and attached the following documents from most recent crash (version 5.1.4):
