VirtualBox crashing - Ubuntu host, Win7 guest

Description

I am running host OS: Ubuntu 16.04, Kernel 4.7.0-040700 VirtualBox Version: 5.1.2 r108956 Guest OS: Windows 7 Pro

Everything seems to work fine, except that maybe once every day or two the guest will freeze (meaning the screen goes gray like if you pause the guest OS) and then it force-closes itself and brings up the "VirtualBox crashed, do you want to report it" screen. I'm able to restart the guest OS immediately after, and everything works fine.

This showed up in the system log at the time of the last crash:

I'm attaching the crash file, the vbox log file, and the vm .vbox file.

I couldn't upload the core dump, it was too large. Here is a link to it:

CoreDump.tar.gz: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0Bw5coEeAQX6kU0kxWkcwSlBULXM/view?usp=sharing

and the full _usr_lib_virtualbox_VirtualBox.1000.crash file: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0Bw5coEeAQX6kZnJPWVZUNDl6UDg/view?usp=sharing

Thanks for the core dumps, you can remove them. The crash happens in the Audio code so a temporary workaround is to disable audio (selecting the NULL audio backend might workaround as well).

I've uploaded a new test build which hopefully should fix the problem:

The files can be downloaded from the Testbuilds page.

Scroll down to the Development Snapshots and download the build apppropriate for your host platform.

Could you please try this and provide the usual VBox log files afterwards then?

This test build is not intended for production use!

Thank you!
