I update the system to hardy and install the 1.6.0-30421_Ubuntu_hardy deb. reproduce the core please see attached bzip2 core
Would be great if you can provide a debug-version for real-time debugging.

We think that we found the problem. I sent you a private EMail with a link to a development build which should have this problem fixed. Feedback appreciated. Thanks for your help.

Frank,
great work, the fix you made kill the bug! No more cores.
Remaining: Remote desktop where frequently disconnected. The connection running over a stable openVPN tunnel. My succession some kind of timing problem related to latency on the line - maybe a short timer. I start a network monitoring - in case a tcp-reset trigger this behavior.
Thank you very much - greetings to the rest of the team - remind me to the day when I'm in the core developer team in Frankfurt (IBM).
regards Chris

Glad to hear that but actually I'm not the right person to honour -- this is sunlover, one of my colleagues. And he will probably help you debugging the remaining issues.

Chris, please attach the entire VBox.log file for a session with a few remote desktop disconnects.
Would be great if you could provide a core dump (please attach it to this defect if possible).
