SATA enumeration gap in EFI firmware

Description

Hello,

I'm currently running the Version 5.0.14 r105127 of Virtual box (the last one).

I think your EFI firmware doesn't lists all the SATA devices if there is a gap in the list.

For instance if I have a disk in SATA0 and another one in SATA2, and nothing in SATA1, then the EFI firmware will only show me the one connected in SATA0 (and not the one in SATA2).

I saw this because I currently develop an application in EFI.

You can check this by simply booting in an EFI shell, at startup it will show you the connected devices (fs0, fs1 etc ...), make a gap in the list of SATA devices and the ones after the gape won't be displayed.

Thanks for you work, virtual box is an awesome open source software!

Not really a duplicate because the description differs but I can't reproduce this behavior. For me all devices attached to port 2 or higher were unavailable no matter whether there is a gap or not. This is a bug in the EFI component which will be fixed in the next maintenance release.

I'll close this bug as a duplicate nevertheless.
