VT-X is not available (due to Avast hardware-assisted virtualization)

Description

Since this morning I can no more start my virtual machines because of the error "VT-x/AMD-V hardware acceleration is not available". But my Intel Virtualization Acceleration is enabled and I haven't changed my system settings for a year. I've double checked each settings, ensured that there were no software updates sinces the last time but I can no more get my machines running.

Just some additional remarks: I'm using Windows 7 (SP1) as host system and Windows 2012 R2 as guest systems.

Do you have Avast installed on your system? If so, is "Enable Hardware-Assisted Virtualization" checked? See also here.
