Error messages on a Windows 7 shutdown when VirtualBox is still open

Reported by: Wes Manning Owned by: gombara
Component: other Version: VirtualBox 5.0.10
Keywords: Cc:
Guest type: other Host type: Windows

Description

I always get a series of 6 error messages that popup when I try to shutdown my computer when virtualbox is still open. I don't have to have any VMs open.

To reproduce:

  1. Start computer.
  2. open virtualbox.
  3. shutdown computer.

I get the attached error messages each time. I have to click OK on each one.

Let me know what you need. Maybe it's something to do with my specific computer but I figure it out from the error messages.

Some reason I couldn't add a comment before. My host is Windows 7 Professional SP1 x64.

Forgot the word can't: "Maybe it's something to do with my specific computer but I figure it out from the error messages." I mean "Maybe it's something to do with my specific computer but I can't figure it out from the error messages."

I'm also on Windows 7 Professional SP1 x64 with current Virtualbox Version 5.0.10 r104061, but I think it has happened to me in every Virtualbox release since the 5.x upgrade.

Just FYI, all the "Error#.png" are from a failure to write the values to the VirtualBox.xml file, a failure of either the Manager or VBoxSVC.
