#14765 new defect

Drag and Drop failure

Reported by: gotyaoi Owned by:
Component: drag and drop Version: VirtualBox 5.0.8

Guest type: other Host type: other

Description

Window manager is openbox 3.5.2. File manager is spacefm 1.0.4 host is win7 64bit, fully updated guest is gentoo linux 64bit, kernel version 4.0.9

Attempting to drag a file from the host to the guest never starts. The cursor never changes from the "can't do that here" icon. Releasing the drag while over the spacefm window has no effect. Guest additions are installed and started, copy paste works, both shared clipboard and drag and drop are set to bidirectional. Haven't tried guest to host.

Logs are attached, but the relevant portions are these, I think:

host

00:01:05.858907 DnD: Offered formats to guest:
00:01:05.858939 DnD: text/uri-list

guest

23:02:10.690882 00007ff0ea57e700 dndX11 DnD: Target window 0x1000bdc ('spacefm') is asking for data as 'text/uri-list'
23:02:10.716603 00007ff0ea57e700 dndX11 DnD: Target window 0x1000bdc ('spacefm') is asking for data as 'text/uri-list'

that last line repeats whenever I move the mouse in the window until I release the drag.

Does this still happen with latest VBox 5.2.18 (with Guest Additions 5.2.18 installed)?
