Description
On Windows XP Guest the fileattributes like invisible or write-protect disappear in the shared folder

Some hints: It works for 1.6.2 and Windows XP for host and guest. But some firewalls do block the attributes. You can still add or delete files, but attribute changes are ignored and not communicated. This is bad if you want to test a firewall. Perhaps it is possible to connect the shared dirs more like a real disk rather than via the network system. So lets hope for the future...

Confirm this Host: (K)ubuntu 8.04 (64bit); Guest: Windows XP host; VirtualBox 1.6.2; Shared folder on XFS file system.
I don't mind too much not being able to store ACLS etc and the System/Hidden/Archive attribs which have no direct *nix file-system analogue, but at least the read-only attribute which pretty much file systems have.
Some applications rely on the read-only attribute working - looks like I'm going to have to share via Samba instead.
