Description
Arch Linux 64-bit with default kernel and VirtualBox packages. vboxdrv module loaded. Lenovo T550 with i7 5600U/vPro.
Created a new VM with a dynamic disk and started installing Debian on it. The host system froze after a few minutes (screen frozen, could not switch to a VT). I was able to ssh into the host from another machine to retrieve dmesg output, but could not recover without a poweroff.

Replying to frank:
Thanks for the log files. Your problem is SMAP-related and is a duplicate of #13961. But I will keep this ticket open for now.
Alright, good to know. Sorry I missed the existing bug report. I simply thought the search system presented open bugs at the top of the results (none of which seemed like the same bug) so I missed the right one that was somewhere between the closed ones. Cheers!

No need to sorry :) "Unhandle kernel paging request" is a very generic error message and only the register state tells the real problem. See also my comment 39 in #13961.
