Description
I get a crash with the above message immediately upon loading the kernel for an amd64 guest (OpenBSD 5.7-stable) using flashrd. A similarly-configured i386 guest does not do this.

Correct, 5.7 has not been released as of yet, but it has been branched in CVS (along with 5.7-stable), from which this was built.
Thanks for the info, that's helpful. This is mostly above my head now, but if anyone else comes across this thread, additional discussion on the flashrd side is ongoing here:

Please reopen if still relevant with VBox 5.1.22.
Are you sure that this guest is supposed to boot on real hardware? OpenBSD 5.7 is not yet released. Just asking... We see the reason why the guest triple faults: Some PT entry should be set to 0 when the memory is set to R0 and the IDT does not yet exist. Looks like we are here.
