OS/2 mouse problems in 4.3.22

Reported by: walter380 Owned by:
Component: guest additions Version: VirtualBox 4.3.22
Keywords: os/2 mouse Cc:
Guest type: other Host type: Linux

Description

After upgrading to 4.3.22 the mouse is being captured by the OS/2 4.52 guest VM after installing the OS2 files (VBoxMouse.sys, VBoxGuest.sys, etc.) from the Guest Additions of 4.3.22.

I had to reapply the OS2 files from 4.3.20 to make it work in USB tablet mode again. (Using host CentOS 6.6)

Replying to walter380:

I assume you mean, that mouse is NOT being captured.

I can confirm this here - it is broken in 4.3.22

'Replying to Yoda:

I have confirmed that the issue is with VBoxguest.sys. With eCS 2.1 it does not seamlessly capture the mouse, but will capture if the mouse is clicked inside the VM window.

Just a clarification, all works well with the 4.3.22 OS/2 Guest Additions except for VBoxGuest.sys. Using the 4.3.20 version of VBoxGuest.sys allows the mouse capture process to once again behave normally.

Could you test this 4.3.23 test build and confirm that it fixes the problems? Thank you!

Resolution: fixed
Status: newclosed

The fix is part of the VBox 4.3.24 release.

Hi frank... I didn't get any email notice from comment 4, but did for comment 5. Testet 4.3.23 additions, and they work fine here

I've tried the 4.3.24 release and the mouse integration is fixed. Thanks!!!

Was the change made in the core product or in the guest additions only? If the former, I have a possible regression here. I am running a VM with Windows 98SE, and the mouse was working with USB Tablet mode in 4.3.22 but no longer works after installing 4.3.24. The pointer remains stuck in the upper left corner. The mouse still works when using PS/2 Mouse instead. Of course, there are no guest additions installed. I am available to do basic testing but will need some direction.

toasterking, the mouse problem you see is unfortunately another 4.3.24 regression and this problem is already fixed. If you tell me which package you need I can provide you a test build with the fix.

Thanks, frank. That was fast! My host is Mac OS X and the package I am using is VirtualBox-4.3.24-98716-OSX.dmg.

Ok, the most recent build at our test builds page contains an OSX package which includes the fix.

Frank, thanks for your help! I can confirm that my problem is resolved using the 4.3.25-98862-OSX package.
