Unnecessary merge operation when deleting last snapshot of a non-current snapshot branch

Description
When deleting the last snapshot in a snapshot branch, which is not in the path of the "Current State" branch, then VirtualBox 4.3.12 performs an unnecessary merging operation. Additionally the log grows with some messages.
Normally a simple discard of the snapshot VDI diff image would be enough, as there is no "Current State" attached to the deleted snapshot.
