Transparent square around pointer when using Guest Additions -> host operating system issue

Reported by: bcdonadio Owned by:
Component: guest additions Version: VirtualBox 4.3.12
Keywords: transparent, square Cc:
Guest type: Windows Host type: Linux

Description

When I install Guest Additions and enable the Mouse Integration, the mouse pointer gets a transparent square around it, where I can see trough the VM window. Additionally, all past pointer drawings are also shown, making a really huge mess.

Reproducible with 3D and 2D accelerations enabled and disabled. Guest is Windows 2012 R2. Host is Fedora 20 with Linux 3.15-rc7. Graphic driver is radeon, 4-head setup, 2 graphic cards (RV770 and RS880). Graphical environment is X.org with GNOME 3.10.

Is there some host/guest accessibility feature turned on, btw?

comment:2 Changed 9 years ago by bcdonadio

No accessibility feature is on, neither at the guest nor at the host.

Please close this bug. I can confirm the same happens at least one another application. It's a X bug, not VBox fault.
