#13081 closed defect (obsolete)

VM crashing if it's started with external auth and try to connect via VRDP

Reported by: coyotte Owned by:

Description

When I start an VM with VRDP authentification set to external and I try to connect through rdp (with remmina) then the VM crash.

During the authentification process, it seems a console order for powering off is received.

00:00:54.616356 Console::powerDown(): A request to power off the VM has been issued (mMachineState=Stopping, InUninit=0)

Next line in the log, we ca see an "access granted"

00:00:54.616788 AUTH: external authentication module returned 'access granted'

few lines after :

00:00:54.619529 Changing the VM state from 'RUNNING' to 'POWERING_OFF'.

When setting VRDP authentification to null it's working fine.

This issue seems to have been raise since 4.2.12 (cf #11981)

It's a security issue if we can't protect RDP access to VM.

Regards
