Windows guest : Cannot attach USB with ver 4.3.6 r91406

Description
Host machine is Win 8 x64. I created a Win 7 X64 and Win XP Pro X86 guest and seems to capture the USB memory inserted but doesnt show up in My Computer list. I removed version VM 4.3.6 r91406 and installed ver -4.2.6-82870 using the same VM for Win XP Pro X86 guest . Now this time getting the USB memory key recognized was no problem ( worked like it did over a year ago on an ACER laptop Win 7 host) . No tinkering for days . All I can deduct is that that there is a bug in the new version VM 4.3.6 r91406 .
