Description (last modified by )
Ubuntu 7.10 After updating from 1.5.4 to 1.5.6 the shortcuts to switch workspaces (Ctrl+Alt+left or right) stopped work from within VirtualBox. The same happens with OSE version. After uninstalling 1.5.6 and manually remove folder .virtualbox on home folder and reinstall 1.5.4 shortcuts went back to normal. Installed OSE version and the problem still exists. Unfortunately after uninstalling OSE version I was unable to have the shortcuts back to work in version 1.5.4 regardless of how many 'clean' installations of 1.5.4

Please reopen if still relevant with a recent VirtualBox release.
I noticed the same behaviour on debian lenny, it worked with 1.5.4. and stopped with 1.5.6. but if you press the host-key first (default is the right ctrl-key), the linux shortcuts are working. so just press the host key and then ctrl+alt+left to switch to the left workspace.
I'm not sure if this is really a bug. I think it makes a lot of sense that you have to exit the keyboardcapturing of the guest system (by pressing the host-key) and then you can use a shortcut of the host-system. in this way there are no conflicts between shortcuts in the guest and the host-system.
