Description
Hello,
I have been unable to take advantage of utilizing VirtualBox's 3D acceleration features within version 4.3.2. Please see details below my host system is running Ubuntu 12.04:
- CentOS 6.2
- Installed VboxGuestAdditions no problem.
- Every OpenGL test I use segfaults with the exception of glxgears which I believe is running in software mode
- Ubuntu 12.04 LTS
- Installed VboxGuestAdditions no problem.
- Every OpenGL test I use segfaults with the exception of glxgears which I beleive is running in software mode.
- Unlike CentOS I receive several errors on the command line terminal after attempting to execute an OpenGL application. They are the same error messages listed here, http://askubuntu.com/questions/311109/opengl-warnings-with-ubuntu-12-04-lts-running-as-a-virtualbox-guest-under-window
I'm using http://www.geeks3d.com/20131028/gputest-0-6-0-opengl-benchmark-for-windows-mac-os-x-and-linux-downloads/#download as a quick OpenGL test which fails on any Linux guest but runs fine on my host directly.
The only reason I attempted to use Ubuntu as a guest is to verify that this issue was isolated to CentOS unfortunately I couldn't get GPU offloading to work on either Ubuntu or CentOS.
Please let me know if you need additional logs or information. I'm willing to test nightly or any test releases that may solve this issue.
Thank You
-MarcJ

I wonder though whether this is the same issue as in ticket #9198. I get the same error message for what that is worth.

Summary: | OpenGL non-functional within Linux guests → OpenGL non-functional within Linux guests -> obsolete |
Please re-open with explanations if still relevant with the current version and no other ticket fits better.
Can't reproduce any crashes here, though the tests don't seem to do much either. Would it be possible for you to find an open source test case and get a back-trace of the segmentation fault?
