Component: | network/NAT | Version: | VirtualBox 4.2.16 |
Keywords: | nat connections table | Cc: | darkneesss@… |

Description
Situation: The virtual machine network adapter set to NAT mode. When the virtual machine is running a few ping hosts on the internet the answer is not completely correct. 1 a lot of timeouts. 2 response from incorrect targets in other windows.
Looks like misbehaving connections table on NAT. Tested on two Host PC, two version 4.2.16 and 4.2.18 and two WAN connections.
The problem looks like this: http://dark.jav.pl/monitoring_4.png
To compare and test checked the network connecting the three routers with NAT in the chain and made a similar case on Host PC: http://dark.jav.pl/hostpc3routers.png
And so it should work.
Impact: webbrowser can work fine, but the network monitoring tools that monitor multiple devices at the same time do not want to work properly. eg: HP Network Node Manager.

Please reopen if still relevant with a recent VirtualBox release.
For comparison the same test on Vmware Player: http://dark.jav.pl/vmwareplayer.png
EDIT: The same environment, too with NAT function on virtual Network Interface.
