Bridged network bug - Only One MAC works

Description
Hello.
I have the following problem: Virtual machine network is configured to be bridged to eth0 and the virtual MAC is 08002701F5BA. If only I change the MAC, for example last character: 08002701F5BB - the guest fails to identify the network adapter.
sudo ifconfig eth0 up
error while getting interface flags : no such device.
Changing the MAC back to 08002701F5BA fixes the problem.
Details: Host: Ubuntu 12.04, Guest Ubuntu 12.04 server.
