Guest audio stops working after a while

Description
On my Debian host, sound randomly stops working. Playback continues silently "very quickly". I.e., the song plays back several songs faster than real time. I'm using ALSA without pulseaudio.
The host is Windows 7 Enterprise, on AMD64. The guest is 3.10-0.bpo.3-amd64. The guest has 4 CPUs.
I'm able to trigger this bug by switching Windows's "default format in shared mode" from 44.1 to 48kHz and back a couple times. But it happens randomly, maybe a couple times a day. Frequently overnight (I leave the machine and VM running - the audio device is active but the machine doesn't have any considerable load).
Usually I can fix it with alsa force-reload
- but sometimes not and I have to save the VM state and then restore it.
