I Found this Errors in the Logfile: VMSetError: D:\tinderbox\win-4.2\src\VBox\Devices\Storage\DevAHCI.cpp(6926) int cdecl ahciR3LoadExec(struct PDMDEVINS *,struct SSMHANDLE *,unsigned int, unsigned int); rc=VERR_SSM_LOAD_CONFIG_MISMATCH

VMSetError: ahci#0: The target VM is missing a device on port 0. Please make sure the source and target VMs have compatible storage configurations [ver=6 pass=final] SSM: LoadExec failed for 'ahci' instance #0 (version 6, pass 0xffffffff): VERR_SSM_LOAD_CONFIG_MISMATCH

This is an inconsistency between the VM config (which doesn't have any device attached to the AHCI controller) and the saved state, which has a device on port 0. This is most likely due to a corrupted config file, but hard to tell how that happened and who did it. Can you provide "ubuntu 10.4 final.vbox" to get a more complete picture? How should the VM be set up? I'd expect a hard disk on port 0...

Sorry I forgot to upload the .vbox file at creating the ticket...

Even my secont restoring state fails I have created most at the same day with no painfull changes in between.

  1. Restoring state - > direct after initial install Ubuntu
  2. Restoring state - > Direct after online update of ubuntu
  3. Restoring state - > Install dev tools

4 ..

Is there any workaround, to be able to recover them?

I have added a screenshot, the difference between the working and non working recovery states is that the fail ones are made live while guest system was still running.

The working one was made with switched off guest system. I am not sure but due searching in bug ticket database yesterday I have read from a similar issue in an older version, but actually I can not find the ticket again.

OK I think i found the other ticket.

It seems that we deal with the same issue than in: Ticket#11750

As Ticket#11750 is set to => fixed in SVN I close this Ticket.
